Ministra diz que basta de abusos sexuais contra as mulheres

A ministra da Mulher, da Família e dos Direitos Humanos, Damares Alves, disse hoje (21) que é hora de o país dar um basta aos casos de abuso sexual contra mulheres. Durante visita à força-tarefa do Ministério Público (MP) de Goiás que apura denúncias contra João Teixeira de Faria, o João de Deus, a ministra pediu que as mulheres denunciem casos de abuso envolvendo o médium.

João de Deus está preso há dois meses, suspeito de abusar sexualmente de mulheres e por porte ilegal de arma de fogo. “Se tem alguma mulher ainda, no Brasil e fora do Brasil, vítima desse agressor que não teve coragem de se pronunciar, se pronuncie. Se não quiser fazer isso diretamente, ligue, fale com o Ministério Público de Goiás”, disse a ministra.

Até o momento, cerca de 300 mulheres relataram episódios de abuso sexual envolvendo João de Deus, em 17 estados brasileiros e seis países. Na tarde desta quinta-feira, a ministra se encontrou com o procurador-geral de Justiça, Benedito Torres. Depois teve uma reunião com promotores da força-tarefa.

Os membros da força-tarefa apresentaram à ministra um relatório detalhado de todas as medidas já realizadas pelo Ministério Público. Após a reunião, a ministra elogiou o trabalho dos promotores e disse que a atuação do MP também tem um caráter “pedagógico” por mostrar às mulheres que existem canais de atendimento.

“As respostas que nos já temos demonstram que o trabalho de vocês [do MP] não está apenas identificando as vítimas e trazendo a denúncia. Ele também tem sido educativo. Estamos mostrando para o Brasil que a gente pode confiar em uma equipe séria, que a mulher agredida pode ser ouvida, deve ser ouvida”, disse Damares. “E isto vai surtir efeito lá na ponta com mais mulheres a denunciar”, acrescentou.

A ministra lembrou que foi vítima de violência por parte de um líder religioso e que existem canais de denúncias para vítimas de violações por meio do disque 180 e do disque 100. “Estamos aqui preocupados com a vítimas”, disse Damares.
