Na manhã desta terça-feira (9), um buraco na pista causou uma colisão frontal entre uma caminhonete e uma carreta na BR-135, no município de Itapecuru-Mirim, a cerca de 112 km de São Luís.

Segundo a Polícia Rodoviária Federal (PRF), o acidente aconteceu no km 108 entre os povoados Colombo e Pindoval. Com a colisão, o motorista sacou do veículo, bateu a cabeça no solo e morreu no local.

A caminhonete que ele dirigia ainda desceu um barranco ao lado da pista e há suspeita de que o motorista não usava o cinto de segurança.

Ainda de acordo com a PRF, o acidente teria acontecido quando o motorista tentou desviar do buraco, entrou na contramão e acabou batendo de frente com uma carreta que vinha no sentido contrário. A vítima, um empresário de 32 anos de idade, era residente em Miranda do Norte e trabalhava no ramo de venda de cadeiras.

Somente após o acidente e a morte do motorista, o buraco na pista foi fechado com concreto e o Departamento Nacional de Infraestrutura de Transportes (DNIT) enviou uma equipe para fazer os reparos.
